If you retain 50% he is a very valuable asset because that ensures 5.5m in dead cap for Toronto for the next three years. I’d suggest Rossi and boldy and wallstedt as a start if you want him retained 50% for three years

Tavares is a point per game center while playing 2nd line minutes. At half retained to bring him into a manageable cap hit, it would have a significant cost.

& Guerin didn't retain fiala because he said he's not trading 4 players to add one player. He just bought out Parise and suter. Wild have to sign boldy, Rossi, eyc.. so he's not going to add him
