Description
A few things,

Miller is a pipeline dream. I think they have the best shot to land him next summer with multiple big contracts expiring in Dumoulin and Zucker. If the trade is right this year and he comes, the Pens are a legitimate force.

It's hard to say they're ever not a legitimate force with a 1-2 punch of Crosby and Malkin staring you in the face. The only enigma two question marks are Carter and Zucker. If Jeff actually performs his contract's worth, and Jason stays healthy, that top 9 is dangerous.

Losing Marino and Pettersson is tough, but being able to secure Miller a year earlier and really go for it this year, makes it worth it if they go far In the playoffs. I don't know if the return for Pettersson is accurate, or if the contract sizes for Milano and Larsson are adequate, but I left some money to possibly fix it.

If you want Miller the pick needs to be a 1st instead of a 2nd.

i’d put Milano on the 3rd line instead of Blueger. Blueger and Larsson are defensive studs and we would have a top shutdown 4th line in the league with them playing together

Change the 2nd to a 1st, the Canucks also don't really have a spot for Kapanen now after signing Mikheyev

Marino and 2023 first minimum. Kapanen is not really needed as we signed Mikheyev

Would you pay a 1st for Marino?

Probably not. Especially not put 2023 first, that’s basically untouchable. Marino is definitely good, has the value of a first but Vancouver is in no position to be giving up first round picks. Personally, I like Marino but he needs to show more to prove he can be a top pair d man. I think I would do something like Höglander and a second round pick for him

That's exactly the same situation PIT is in. Hextall will not part with a 1st. Our prospect pool is almost a beer league. On a side not, JR and Allvin traded every 1st and prospect worth anything while they were here. Nothing is untouchable to them, but it did lead to 2 cups

I feel like the Penguins would be a little more pushes to deal a first round pick of it meant a couple extra years of contention. I don’t see the Pens rebuilding any time soon with Malkin Crosby and Letang still hanging around. The Canucks on the other hand are simply not contending right now

Hextall is trying to contend and rebuild the prospect pool at the same time. I don't have much faith that's going to work out so well. Haha
