Leafs fan ACGM post starter pack

Created by: Juiceman
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 15, 2022
Published: Jul. 15, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What a typical Leafs ACGM will consist of

Alex Kerfoot:
Will be either traded to a non-contender for a high round pick despite that team not needing a rental

Or

Traded in a package to Vancouver to get 99 point Miller

Justin Holl:
Same thing, either traded to a team who doesn’t need him

Or

Packaged in a deal to get a far superior player

Nicholas Robertson:
Former 18 year old Robertson is certainly a “very attractive” piece as he was once 18 years old. Usually packaged with Kerfoot in order to acquire a far superior player

Jake Muzzin
Often traded to a team who doesn’t need him, doesn’t have the cap space for him. Most notably, the LA Kings

Thoughts about this extremely realistic ACGM?

Don't forget to add that almost every ACGM will include trading Toronto's 2023 3rd round pick despite the fact it is tentatively held by Arizona.

The only problem I have is that you paid sandin 2.5 instead of the typical 1.4-1.6 that leads fans sign him to so that they can make cap work 99% of the time

Who needs to make cap work when we dumped a bunch of contracts for other teams to deal with?

You forgot to add Schenn to the Vancouver trade. Other than that, this is 100% correct.

I never thought I would say this, but it actually makes me long for the days when they had future HoFers Jeremy Bracco and Mikko Lehtonen.

Best post on this site!!! JT Miller is a rental so I can pay with 2 rentals that is more like a cap dump.... Because I don't want to pay for a good player with prospects or pick in 2023 draft....

I agree on Muzzin, and to a lesser extent Kerfoot (although personally I would not trade him anyway) But I could see teams trading for Holl - only one year, reasonable cap, can log minutes and good on PK. May not get much (4th or 5th) but he is tradeable imo. Good player - leaf’s just can’t afford to pay $2.0M on 6th or 7th dman

According to a decent chunk of our fans projections on him from about 3 years ago, he should be at least an 80 point player by now

Everyone on CAPFRIENDLY knows that Dubas is the best GM in the National Hockey League.

lol I can’t wait for this team to fail again. I saw a twitter post on how dubas was mimicking the canes strategy from last year in the goalie department and how it would work the exact same basically. Samsonov I think will be good but with the defense in front of them, neither goalie will perform like Carolina’s did. The key factor they left out was that carolina had slavin pesce and Skjei to hold down the D and prevent a lot of chances from even getting to the next. Meanwhile the leafs have no D man up to that caliber other maybe Brodie but tbh he doesn’t preform like Skjei. Reilly is good but much more of an offensive d man. Also it’s hilarious to have them compared to colorado this year saying that “you don’t need elite goaltending to win a cup” and the logical response is “well you at least need 4 effective lines and 3 defensive pairings to hold down the fort in front of that goalie” which the leafs do not have. That entire 4th line would’ve been in the Avs AHL team last year and every d man on this team except Riley and Brodie would’ve been extra d men for colorado. While the leafs have the talent up front, the fact that half their cap is invested in 4 players is not good and those 4 alone can’t carry to a cup with scrubs around them.

You know, upon mature reflection, this is such a F$%#ing brilliant ACGM that I owe it to you to come here twice.

You know where I stand.

You do realize he has been basically injured the last 2 years......give the kid a break as he is going to be a great player in the National Hockey League.

So tired reading all these anti-Leafs rants which make no sense.........You should be more worried about your own Carolina team which is a shipwreck that alot of its players just want out.

First it was lehtonen, then it was bracco, then it was robertson, then it was bunting (that one actually hit lol) now it is malgin, now it is knies, next will be minten (their top 15 prospect picked at 38). Leafs fans on this site have malgin as a top 6 forward and knies as the next tkachuk. Don’t you dare trade knies in a ACGM for 99 point miller because that’s an auto no from the leafs. Poverty franchise.

Dubas is really ahead of his time as a GM compared to other GM's in the National Hockey League and Leafs fans are going to be rewarded by him in the near future.

These aren't anti-Leafs rants . . . they're anti-Leafs-ignorami rants. Nobody's arguing with knowledgeable experts like SaskLeaf and GenXHockey and the Sage of Georgian Bay.

I’d like to hear a report that states a bunch of Canes players want put. They were a good team last year and are even better now with the offseason moves. Try again

Knies is the real deal and you need to get up to speed about the player instead of taking a cheap shot at a young player still in College.
