This is not a Devils fan so everyone knows and it clearly shows. Devils wouldn't trade Mercer or Holtz for Miller 1 for 1

Canucks accept, but realistically, Canucks need to add. Probably Hoglander

JT Miller is a rental. He’s on an expiring contract. Just stop it..lol.

So is Severson, I know, but this is just crazy. Unless Miller comes with an extension.

Severson and a 1st is plenty…and most likely NJ is still a lottery team. That 1st is probably gonna be high. I don’t know if they would even do that.

Palat on the 2nd Line looks a lot better, and that RHD is still tough. Even though I don’t think Nemac plays in the NHL until next season. But I’d be working on getting a goalie.

And trade Severson at the TD. And let Canucks keep Miller until the deadline too. They be lucky to get a late 1st and a prospect. Most likely a late 1st and a mid round pick.

I disagree, now that they have organizational depth with Marino, Severson, Hamilton, Nemec, and Casey, Severson's value has gone down, this is probably an indicator that he will walk in FA. I think that he now has less value than Marino and I think that he should not be the guy to go for. We need to be targeting the best possible and not settling in a trade. This does not mean that he isnt a good defender, it just means that his value isnt what it was earlier even earlier today

Mercer is a high value asset probable top 6 forward on a 2 year elc and canucks in the same boat with miller they've been trying to sign him for a year now teams aren't gonna play hard ball with rare assets like star forwards and heavy minute RHD

I beg to differ, miller is our best forward and we are trading him, why should we be trading our best asset for someone else's 3rd best? it doesnt make sense

I understand that but my point is that the canucks are looking to get the top asset in trade, not trying to get the 3rd or 4th best RD, severson is now expendable, he isnt better than marino or hamilton, and he isnt younger than nemec. He is still a very good player, but the canucks dont want your 3rd best asset for our best one

Hes def better than Marino just doesnt fit the scheme with Nemec and L Hughes coming hes way to good to be 3rd pair and the difference between him and miller isnt mercer let alone a 1st and 2nd
