Description

He must not be happy with the change in philosophy in Chicago, but his contract is also pretty bad. I read no more than 2 teams can retain on a salary, so I added Arizona to this to make the contract more appealing for teams to acquire. Buffalo has a promising young team and a hole in the right side of the defense, so is Seth Jones at a smaller salary a fit?

No one is retaining for 8 seasons. If they are are it’ll cost equivalent of multiple 1sts. CHI is stuck with him and he’s stuck there for now until the cap rises in a few seasons then maybe someone will look at trading for him.

Asking a 3rd party team to retain on a contract for 8 years is pretty absurd... It would take an insane amount of assets for a team to agree to do that.

Yikes, Jones isnt worth 25% of that. Chicago can deal with that contract while theyre rebuilding, itll help them get to the cap floor

To start Chicago would have to retain half his salary, to get teams to even begin to think of taking him. Then you would have to remove half of the pieces you are asking for and in all honesty add some sweetners to pay someone to take him. Also since he has a NMC he likely shoots down most places and kneecaps Chicago's price even more. It's not worth it for all sides of this, except maybe Seth Jones.
