Is it not? OEL is good but makes way too much for way too long. Poolman is a straight cap dump. Canucks need a RHD which is Carlo, and Grzlek is the replacement for OEL, and Lysell is extra price for Miller. Overall I think the first trade is decent, I mean, a first rounder could be added from Boston, but getting rid of that OEL contract is massive for the canucks, taking on that contract is pretty much first round value. The rest of the trades are just cap clearing for Boston

I don't think that deal it's enough for a guy who make 100pts last season. Boston should add a two1st round pick ''unprotected''.

And also, I think Lysell is a great player, but I think a lot of Bruins fans overhype him.

The problem for throwing cap dumps into a trade with guys like Miller is the fact that it lowers the return. When you’re a GM on the market, you want to get the best bang for you buck. If you throw in a cap dump, then you’re not going to get as much for your player.

You've missed the mark on Miller's value in the market. Look what DeBrincat and Fiala got.

Maybe some kind of pick goes back to Vancouver? The value is pretty close though considering the cap implications for Vancouver and Boston. They would have to think about it, although some fans would hate it.

True, but it also means we don't have to give up a first in an OEL trade.

Don't listen to anyone else. That is a PHENOMINAL trade for Miller. Everyone else is delusional. Canucks lose a 10m cap dump in OEL/Poolman for free, so essentially the Canucks are getting a 24yo top line blueliner and Huges's defensive partner for the next 10 years, an A+ wing prospect in Lysell, AND a 28yo puck moving defenseman who might be ever so slightly overpaid, but not enough to hamper his value too much. --- All for Miller.

That's the trade of the century and tbh Sweeny probably gets fired right after.

I know right. OEL at 7 mill for 5 years does not fit on our roster and barely fits on any roster at that cap hit. Although we might be worse for a year or two after this trade, it solves all our long term issues while setting us up for success in the future.
