He's a great 3rd pairing defender, very good depth signing by Florida.

He can be a 6-7 D, but the real kicker here is the tremendous value he will bring to the AHL squad. He was a monster in Belleville

If he was a great 3rd pairing defender, he wouldn't have been bought out by the Sens

Florida is quietly having one of the best off seasons with all of these depth signings.

At worst, he's an injury call up. Teams need players like this to succeed.

Puts up points but is terrible defensively. He'll fit right in with the Panthers

I forgot he played for the Canucks. The Canucks definitely won that trade.

There were many questionable buy outs and players who didn't get tendered. This was one of them.

So you're saying the Sens should have rode out the final year of his deal instead?

It'll be the Ottawa Panthers if Weegar goes to Ottawa next. Also, remember Jayce Hawryluk? He played for both those teams

Yeah, They had no reason unless they would rather play their younger guys, but considering the moves they've made, I think it would've benefitted them by keeping him

He’s a good bottom paring d-man. It’s better than the $2,000,000 that Ottawa gave him
