Jets Blow it up

Created by: McJoe7
Team: 2022-23 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 17, 2022
Published: Jul. 17, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I may continue this one later and trade more guys but didn't know where to start. Jets would be an interesting team to blow it up because they have a bunch of pieces that lots of teams would want!

Columbus likely can’t afford that trade cap wise, unless you’re taking someone else back with Bemstrom, like Nyquist or Voracek.

Wheeler is a cap dump, and you aren't getting 2 top prospects for him

4 first for PLD when no one in the league will trade for him? Everyone knows he a habs in 2 years so thats a hell of an overpayment.

Horrendous deal for Ottawa. Nate Schmidt's deal is brutal. Nearly 6mil for 3 seasons. He's better than Zaitsev, but that isn't much of a bar at all. He's bad defensively, and puts up points without driving offense. Nate Schmidt really puts the mid in Schmidt.

If Winnipeg blew it up, this isn't the way to go. Trading good players far below their value for bad players, doesn't usually end well.

Genuinely, *** does Schmidt go from being traded from a 3rd in back to back season to being dealt for two 2nds, a prospect who was taken as a high 2nd two years ago and a 4th?

why would the Sens pay that much to shed Zaitsev and just take on a worse contract???

COL passes on that. If COL moves Compher it’s for the reason everybody thinks, and they aren’t taking back any cap.

Zaitsev is on a better deal than Schmidt, so I can't see Dorion trading him even up for Schmidt. Adding all those other assets is absurd.

LOL that offer for PLD. It's bigger than the Eichel deal. 4 1sts, yeah ok

2 1sts for Ek65 destroyed the Sharks with one becoming Stutzle as well as getting Norris as a prospect.

Gms have learned not to do such crazy deals. It took them long but I think they learned.

And, this doesnt count all the leverage on Montreal's side.

I posted this, are you guys reading this differently than I am? Its 2 contracts, Guhle and 2 1sts for Dubois and Stanley, a bunch of people said 4 1sts and I genuinely don't know why. I think that's a pretty fair deal for both teams. It's also only one of Montreal's 1sts because the 2023 one is Floridas.

If Montreal doesn't want him 2 years early, they'll do nothing and wait but I imagine they would like to have Dubois no?
