There's no reason for the Islanders to move Noah Dobson.

-He's 22 and coming off a 50 point season.
-There are no other RD in the Islanders' system that are NHL ready so you're opening a biiiiig hole at RD2 to do this.
-Paying Miller $8.5-9M for his age 30-34 seasons is a fast ticket to buyout city.

It's an easy pass if the ask for Miller is Dobson. Dobson is a young emerging star at a difficult to fill position. Miller is on the wrong side of the aging curve and about to become very expensive. No thanks.

Trading the isles #1 D and best offensive defenseman won’t solve their scoring woes. Good try though . Dobson is untouchable

A soon to be 30 year old isn’t worth a 22 year old D man

I figured it would stir the hornets test lol

What pray tell was the supposed offer for JTM?

JR hasn’t gotten his ask yet but you can be certain he’s hunting a RHD for Hughes. That said lets hear your offers lol

The deal at the draft was probably something around 2022 1st and Beauvillier . Look at what Mark Stone/Debrincat/Fiala have returned in the past. Not even close to the value that Dobson has

Believe or not, no one wants a 30 year old whose hit PPG twice in his career with an expiring contract for a 22 year old top pairing dman

Canucks played hardball with Miller for too long & now I bet GM's are playing hard ball with the Nucks. If he get's traded, I bet the return is gonna be really underwhelming. 1st + B prospect + Middle 6 roster player + later pick

Not in the class or close to any of those 3.

217pts in 192 games. Nobody on NYI even sniffs closely at that. Mired in the middle 6 of a deep good TB only held him back. Yet a 34yr old winger in Giroux gets 3/6.5m & has 1 ppg season in his last 10 years. Nah nobody wants a top line play driving big C/W or help the PP huge. 30 goals facing ops best checking line was no fluke. 18pts in 17 PO games was no mirage.

You think Kadri who’s much older is gonna come cheap & help you? New arena & an aging F core isn’t gonna help Uncle Lou.

So if not Dobson send a real offer out.

the isles and the canucks just aren’t good trade partners. we don’t have the pieces the canucks would want aside from dobson who we’re not trading.

Beauvillier has had one down season , he was a great 2nd line forward from 2018-21. Debrincat and stone are much better than Miller, not sure what you’re talking about.

The isles don’t need kadri, they are set at center. Miller doesn’t make sense either, that deal is likely dead. I’ll take Barzal over Miller any day, Miller is very good but he benefits from playing on a stacked PP unit, he would struggle to put up 60 pts on the isles.

No reason to make an offer when the deal is likely dead and Miller isn’t worth what he’ll cost in assets + new money.

Best offer that the Isles would put out is Beauvillier, a 1st, and a prospect from their second tier of guys (talking Dufour/Holmstrom/Bolduc level). Every other roster player either has an NTC (Lee/Nelson/Pageau/Palmieri/Pulock/Pelech/Varlamov), fits in the "trading this guy for Miller makes the team worse" column (Barzal/Dobson/Sorokin), or is a worse player than Beau (everyone else I haven't mentioned yet). As far as prospects, it wouldn't make sense to move one of Wahlstrom or Raty because conceivably those players will be impact players on ELC/bridge deals in the next year or two and not something you want to move for a rental.

Or, as the esteemed Bob of Bagels said:
