One of the more reasonable moves for the Leafs to save cap. I like Kerfoot but this "trade"value is low.

I’d try a Robertson Tavares Marner experiment for a bit. Having Tavares teaching positioning and how to work for the puck along with Mitch feeding tape to tape should boost his stock. Robertson is in an interesting spot of either make it or go the way of Bracco situation.

Why is the trade value low. We get the player we need at the right salary and cost. Explain or stop complaining about every TML trade made. TMLDS strikes again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like this idea as well . The Bracco comparison I question. Look at Robertson's brother for a comparison .He has had no real development time due to Covid and minor injuries . I would not even question another year with the Marlies .

Somewhat the same as Max Pacioretty. Teams with cap (non playoff teams) can sign a 3.5m player UFA just as well, instead of giving up assets for one year till UFA 3.5m Kerfoot.
Contending teams that might like his "on ice value:", don't have the cap to trade for him unless they can send cap back to the Leafs.
IMO maybe the only two team that might need Kerfoot to help them short term is Boston and Calgary, and they can wait to fill via UFA at least for awhile. Leafs and there are a few others teams "desperate" to off load cap, many more sellers than buyers for players like Kerfoot.

Gee, you're reading (and likely others) abilities seem to be lacking. I certainly didn't complain about this trade.

Toronto's cap situation doesn't affect Kerfoot's value. Go ahead and find a UFA forward capable of playing all 3 positions (who has actually done it, recently), kills penalties, plays PP and can move up and down the lineup with ease. Oh, and make sure he had 50 pts last year. I'll wait

But other teams cap and needs affects Kerfoot's value. Hey I like Kerfoot as a player. What teams at the moment, have 3.5m in cap available and what would want to give up a good prospect or pick for Kerfoot? I'll wait.

I did explain "low trade value", when I replied to Goal Dancers As I wrote on TBLBrian's post. Gee, that's hardly complaining "One of the more reasonable moves for the Leafs to save cap". Actually I agree with TMLBrian take on Kerfoot's trade value. (if I interrupt his post correctly). I like Kerfoot but this "trade"value is low.

CJ who just signed for 2.1. Kerfoots value not only comes from his ability but the fact he is only owed 750k for this season Any cash poor team with needs would jump at this

You're right cash poor teams would job at Kerfoot.(only if they are Kerfoot's trade list). But these cash poor teams are non playoffs team, so their intent will be to flip UFA Kerfoot at the deadline.

Connor Brown was literally just traded, for a 2nd round pick. He plays only wing and put up 12 less points than Kerfoot last year and a -8 compared to Kerfoot's +15, while making 100k more. Brown is also collecting 4M in actual dollars compared to Kerfoot's 750k. Both are Ufa at season's end. I guess we will find out in the coming weeks, but I'd say that is a pretty good indication on Kerfoot's worth on the trade market.

As for "What teams at the moment, have 3.5m in cap available and what would want to give up a good prospect or pick for Kerfoot?" I'd say there's more than a few that would be interested in his services and willing to make it work. He does have a NTC which would complicate things some

Good point on Brown. Gotta think the reason Washington acquired him is because RW Wilson is injured till January. Depending on how the Caps are doing, they will either keep Brown or flip him at TDL.
Right now the only team that I think might be interested in Kerfoot would be Boston because of their iffy centre situation and Calgary who might need a centre due to Monahan being injured at the start of the season or as a "replacement" for Gaudreau at LW.
