This team doesn't make the playoffs as constructed, so there goes the future, also Andrew Peeke is a good dman but he struggled on a top pair quite a bit, he's more of a strong #5 D man who can play up the lineup periodically

Don't get me wrong.....I wouldn't mind a good young stay at home dman but giving up a 1st ++ for Peeke is wayyy too much

yeah forsure i could see that maybe leafs add muzzin with retained salary too but this isn’t realistic

This team is weaker up front and on the back end as it sits in this thread. That's simple to see. You've assumed Konecny is an upgrade on Nylander (he's not) and Laughton I like but also not an upgrade on Kerfoot, you just think both those players are "tough" and that's what TO lacks when it's not what they lack, they didn't get pushed around in the playoffs they got beat by a better more skilled team with more experience
