LA isn't giving up their best prospect for a player that can accept his QO and be a UFA next summer. They're also not keen to trade their best goaltender in franchise history. If you want to swap Turcotte and Petersen in for Byfield and Quick, then I'm sure the Kings might consider it. Otherwise, they say no.

Assuming Tkachuk agrees to a reasonable long-term deal in advance and that Doughty doesn't veto the trade, remove Quick from the trade and maybe there's a deal to be done here. Quick is the Kings starting goaltender and isn't available.

The Sabres aren't going to trade a high second for Quick, no need for retention even if they did.
