Wow. TJ Brodie would be worth a second at best if he didn’t have a NTC. Good player but wtf. This is even worse than the Brannstrom and a first for Tanev proposal I saw on here.

He is?

Not gonna lie from looking at the lineup I felt it was gonna be one of Raffl, ZAR, or Motte

As rn the forward lines probs gonna be

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Robertson-Tavares-Nylander
Engvall-Jarnkrok-Malgin/Gaudette
X-Kampf-Kubel

Brodie is one of if not the Leafs best Dman. He would fetch more than a 2nd as this man is a saint

Now I agree this is to much but teams would give low 1sts for him considering his defensive impact

You would be correct if he was 25. He is in his 30s.

Their bottom 6 is going to be pretty bad imo. Engvall is the only one I like

Brodie is still a tremendous defenceman at his age in the National Hockey League.

Um Toronto's bottom 6 is gonna be underratedly good again

It doesnt need to score a tonne to be good

A 3rd line or 4th line of Engvall-Kampf-Kubel (if not another guy besides Engvall) is gonna be so annoying to any teams top line as they got to deal with 3 guys who will forecheck and keep you away from the net.

I feel Jarnkrok will be the perfect replacement for Kerfoot and who knows could see him reach 50 points, Not expecting to much for Gaudette and Malgin but who knows players have surprised us before. If they can get 20 points thats good.

I just don’t think this bottom 6 will get much points tbh.

No way you mean well for OTT here. Also Sanderson is for sure in the NHL and a potential calder candidate. The idea of him sitting for Yandle of all people is actually insane. Like where tf is Pinto? This is terrible.

I agree that this is going to be a tremendous line for the Leafs......and going to be a nightmare line for the opposing teams to play against every night

But it really doesnt need to its impact will be defense with some points chipped in here and there. Like the Isles 4th line is good not for the points but for its defensive game and forecheck

I would not be surprised if Engval is moved up to second line leftwing to play with Tavares and Nylander at times and Jarnkrok slots into his place on the 3rd line.

Engval scored 15 goals playing a total shutdown wing slot on the the third line with Kampf who has limited offensive abilities as his centre.......which shows Engval has tremendous offensive potential for the Leafs.

Whether its a good idea or not isn't the question. It's something NHL GMs do regularly. If you are going to try and say Brodie isn't worth a 1st, you'll need a better argument.

I don’t base my opinions off of what a bad GM would do. I don’t sit around wondering what Ron Hextall and Chuck Fletcher would do Lmao.

Says the guy whose team hasn’t been above .500 since… well, it’s been a while. Thx for the advice but Leafs are good - I’d worry about that ahl d corps

I'm surprised you didn't use Lou as an example. He loves older players.
