I would be content with Kyrou and a 1st for Tkachuk personally. You can have Kostin even.

Doubt the Blues would send Mitts over in a Matty trade. But who knows with wacky Doug this offseason?

For perspective, the flames declined a trade for tkachuk that included the 2nd overall pick. What make you think the current deal even gets tkachuk. You’re about 2-3 first round picks short.

I think there is a deal that makes sense if Calgary does decide to rebuild a bit but Kyrou or Thomas are untouchable imo. They'd all be apart of the core we'd take into the future. Plenty of picks and good prospects, other good roster players and could see nyi involved in a 3 way where they get Tarasenko and send some assets to Calgary. If something like that can't work out, Blues will just play the waiting game and cross their fingers. No point bringing Tkachuk over if we can't keep a winning team around him and Thomas

But would you trade 3 1st and that's it? I don't know if Calgary is in a position to get that for Tkachuk really because there is a chance it is just for 1 year of Tkachuk at the end of the day but you could always trade Vladi or someone to recuperate some draft capital and odds are Tkachuk would resign here just don't think that should be a determining factor of his value in relation to St.louis over other teams. We pay more than anyone else would because he's more likely to stay, though there's still a chance he wont? Doesn't make sense.

After the 2020-2021 season I was so sure the right approach for the Flames was to tear down and rebuild. Last season was the worst thing that could have happened for the Flames organization.

Losing Gaudreau for nothing really hurts and now Tkachuk is most likely forcing his way out.

Plus they’ve still got a fairly competitive middle of the pack roster even with those two leaving.

If you would have told me just before the battle of Alberta this was going to happen I’d call you crazy. This is too bad.

NYR accept that trade in a heartbeat. They may need you to take Reaves too tho for cap purposes.
