This Leafs team is looking good and much better than most hockey fans realize.

Yea, you don't need your third and fourth lines to score much, just play good defense, forecheck like crazy, and have the speed to transition. All the bottom six guys fit that description. And the leafs can afford to be patient with the top six because Knies will join them in April for the playoffs.

I actually thought the root of the Leafs weakness last year was really its 4th line and relying on older and ageing 4th liners.

I like how Dubas is improving the 4th line players with younger and faster players.........I think Gaudette could be a real sleeper player if he can be molded into a checking and defence first player and would not be surprised if Steeves and Anderson get promoted from the Marlies and get some time on the 4th line.
