Detroit won't give up that many assets for a LD when they are loaded at LD in prospects. Edvinsson, Albert Johansson, Wallinder, Buium, Viro and Sebrango. Simply wouldn't make sense for the organization. If this was before they gave Chiarot a multi year deal then maybe.

I get it, but Chychrun can play both sides and fits the time like, that way you don't have to rush Edvinsson

I don't think it's a crazy idea, just don't think its the right one. Hronek could continue to play the right side on the third pair if they signed Klingberg. Edvinsson is NHL ready this year. Johansson will be next year and Wallinder will have a chance next year. No sense spending assets to fill a void that we don't have.

Other than the first round pick (which is top ten protected) I don't know how much I care about any of those assets being traded. Oesterle I would be fine with waiving. I would prefer to see Hronek, Veleno, and Zadina under a new coach before moving them and 2023 is supposed to be a deep draft, but there really isn't anything too important moving out in this trade other than that first. This would have the makings of a great, (mostly) young top 4 once Edvinsson develops. Move Chychrun over to the right if Johansson or Wallinder develop into top 4 D or Klingberg regresses too hard. I've seen much worse ideas on here.

Call up Berggren, leave Fabbri on LTIR to start the season, and sign a depth piece or two to push Erne and Smith to the press box and I think you have a competitive roster.
