Yeah you'd have to pay ANA to take Muzzin, Verbeek already publicly said he prefers to fill the roster through FA and short term deals, the extra year would be costly for TOR to get ANA to bite on

You forgot to provide compensation to Anaheim for taking Muzzin's contract. Muzzin without retention to anywhere is not happening unless Toronto adds a sweetener.

Retain 50% of his contract, and you might get this return.

If Muzzin waives to a non-playoff team (no idea why he'd do that), you will be paying the receiving team.

If/when Kerfoot is moved, you'll receive a maximum of 1 draft pick in total.

Connor Brown returned a single draft pick, Kerfoot will do the same.

A 2nd round pick, ya. Sure, if the Leafs get a second for him I expect it to be only the 1 pick. If it's beyond a 2nd then I would expect more than one pick.

It'll be a 3rd rounder I'd imagine, pretty well fair value and that player type is all over so not much for demanding a heavy payment for him honestly

I would bet he gets the same as Brown tbh. I don't think he returns less than Brown. He's not going to get a 1st or anything but I think people undervalue him a lot.

If they get a sweetener I don't think it's a lot tbh. Muzzin isn't just a scrub or anything, he has value. He's not what he was of course, but would provide good leadership to a team like Anaheim that's very young. They're also wayyyy under the cap floor so they're not overly concerned about the cap.

Just because they have space doesn't mean that they're in the business of accepting bad value trades. Muzzin is still a serviceable player, but he's injury prone and no longer worth his contract. He'd be a good deal worth a mid-level asset at $2.8M AAV. At $5.6M, he's negative value, and Toronto would have to give up assets for anyone to take him.

Vegas accepts first trade but the second is definitely a pass.

My mindset was they need to shed some more cap and Leafs need a RHD man so it makes sense as a fit. Of course I don't have an extensively in depth knowledge of every player on every team so hard to completely fairly evaluate. If you're a Vegas fan what adjustment would you make to make that a realistically fair offer?

I mean it's realistic I suppose, guess we'll find out who's right eventually

Whitecloud is really good defensively and on a great contract so he won’t be a cap casualty. Upgrade 2nd to 2023 1st and I think it’s fair. My counter offer would be Whitecloud + Kolesar for 2023 1st + Robertson + Holl. I know it’s a lot but he’s cheap and locked up long term.

I could probably live with that provided Muzzin is moved first.
