PLD come on down

Description
Need to give something of value for PLD. he is a 60pt/year guy at 24 and being a 3rd overall pick, right or wrong gives him some heightened value in the league dispite what appears to be a meh attitude. With that being said:

MTL gives up Dvorak(not needed with PLD and Dach), Hoffman(Useful/Good but kinda sorta salary dump), Guhle(Sad but WPG needs a prospect, Guhle is the only one that makes sense - not trading Slaf, Caufield, Suzuki obvious, and Guhle is a few years away of knowing what/who he is as a player) for PLD with a contract pre-negotiated.

I assume Carey again is sadly on LTIR, however if he comes back you can either 1) run with a shorter reserve and acrue capspace, or put Carey on LTIR and look to trade Anderson or Drouin. Drouin is the prefered trade, because he is kinda bad right now but that means his value has never been lower. Anderson has higher value and seems to be overly hyped in the league right now. I dont think his value will ever get higher and could be a perfect trade chip to get some meaningful assets back to help.

I assume both WPG and Montreal will hate this trade which I assume means its close to fair. Or maybe I am just out to lunch.

Actual solid value this time but I still think the Jets want a RHD so probably Barron who if I were the Canadiens would move Barron over Guhle

As a fan of neither of these teams, very nice trade.

I think this is a good trade for both sides. MTL fans won’t want to move Guhle, but I think you have the value near perfect. Even though jets are loaded at LD, they’re probably still interested in Guhle as he’s better than nearly If not all of the jets LD prospects.

If you're getting Guhle (you won't), you're definitely not getting a 1st with him.

As much as PLD wants to be a Hab, and I'm sure Hughes wouldn't mind having him, I don't see any need in MTL paying this kind of price, no matter how "fair" the value might be.

Habs can afford to wait 2 years. It's not the Habs fault Dubois and his agent are impatient and want to be here sooner.

feels like a lot with Guhle & and a first. I think Dvorak, Hoffman and a 1st gets it done.

Take out the 5th from Winnipeg and add a 1st if you want Winnipeg to take a 2 year dump in Hoffman.

Guhle as a LD probably holds little value to Winnipeg.

I agree. But doubt Jets would. MTL fans I'm sure would welcome PLD with open arms (besides Matheson) and Hughes will forever be appreciated for swinging this trade. Why wait?
Sure PLD would play for another team in 2 years and anything can happen.

Another option as someone has mentioned is an offer sheet, but if PLD signs this might put Hughes in a bind because he has no cap at moment.
