Mangiapane And Dubois Trades

Created by: Jets33

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 18, 2022

Description
Instead of the Kerfoot trade, I could see Chevy looking at bringing in Jason Dickenson because of his familiarity with Bowness, which I hope they don’t. But you never know what you’re gonna get with Chevy. Also it seems like we’re stuck with Wheeler until at least next year because the Jets don’t want to retain any of his salary in a trade, so that sucks.

I think WPG would be foolish to deal away their 2023 1st

Yeah probably, but I feel like Mangiapane would be a great top six addition but, I doubt Chevy considers moving his first unless it’s for someone like Tkachuk.

Or Montreal can force PLD hand by OS him. $6M would net a 1st & 3rd back to WIN. $7M would net a 1st, 2nd & 3rd back to WIN.
If it is a long term OS, WIN would be crazy to match and keep him in the locker room long term.
Either way, it is more beneficial for Montreal going the OS route.
Since they don't have to obtain him right away based on their needs, they would force WIN to make a big decision.

If dubois signs an offer sheet thats longer than 2 yrs winnipeg would match in 30 secs after he signed it.

He is burning through his 2nd team in 3 years.
Winnepeg wants fair value for him, and I get that completely.
However, did you see how quickly the misery in Ottawa with Hoffman/Ericksson brought that team down?
If Winnepeg truly wants to fix their problems, then I think Chevy would take the picks and cut/run from Dubois, and use that salary to sign best remaining UFA this year.
Otherwise, the toxic locker room will remain in perpetuity

as a habs fan i think they would also need to get a prospect LD or C from us. Then we would still need to find a way to make room from Him and Dach. Any of Edmonson/hoffman/drouin/armia/Dadonov would need to be sent somewhere

Chevy legit kept a player for 4 yrs that wanted out and finally the player had to kick him out of the room before chevy traded him. Chevy is matching any offer sheet over 3 yrs without even thinking about it.

Sounds like the problems in the locker room go much higher than the locker room.
Sounds like Chevy is half way to becoming a Ford (Forced out Rear Door / Found on Road Dead)

Fix Or Repair Daily / First On Recall Day
