The isles are better off signing Milano or trading for Puljujarvi. Trading the 2023 1st for a player not under the age of 26 would lead to hockey purgatory for the next 5 years

See I have other ACGMs doing that but they don’t have the offensive instincts like Tarasenko, Barzal has yet to play with an elite player since Tavares left and they didn’t even play together Tarasenko could help be that winger for him for a few years

At this point I wouldn’t say he’s elite. Just a solid top 6 F. Isles can’t afford to be trading 1st rd picks for 31 YO

Still will be the only player other than Barzal to put up over 75 points

That’s not likely. Tarasenko had a 103 PDO last season and his S% was the highest since 2014. When you factor in his age + unsustainable 21-22 season, he’s likely a 55-60 pt player on the isles.

Tarasenkos two most frequent linemates last season were Pavel Buchnevich and Robert Thomas. Both finished top 30 in GAR among forwards last season.

Yet he led the team in points he probably drops off in goals to like 28 ish but he still definitely puts up around 75 points with Barzal

He had 7 empty net points, Buchnevich and Thomas were also over a point per game but they had an elite overall impact. Tarasenko was a slightly above average 2nd liner last season.

It’s more likely Tarasenko is a replacement level forward at even strength than him putting up 75 pts next season. You should know that quality of teammates play a huge role in production. Barzal and Lee (factoring in regression) is a huge downgrade from Thomas + Buchnevich.

Tarasenko is literally one of the biggest regression candidates for next season. He’s already a 2nd liner at best and he’s getting to the age where it might be better to play him in the bottom 6 because he’s becoming a liability at 5v5.
