With Dobson I was going based on Lou's other Dman signings Pelech (7x5.75) and Pulock (7x6.150), it it would make no sense for him to do 6 mill on just a 4 year deal, and Kadri is a FA with alot of options, it's around what you'd have to pay for an elite centre

Dobson just put up 51 pts as a 22 year old defenseman, he’s not signing for less than 5 mill

Kadri isn’t elite, he has one outlier season

lol yeah tell Kadri and is agent it's an outlier, it's around what he will get on the open market and he fits the islanders perfectly

if teams were offering that up on the open market he'd have been signed already

Kadri averaged 50 points before this season, it definitely was an outlier

He does not fit the islanders perfectly , Nelson is not moving to wing when he put up 37 goals last season. Plus Barzal needs a new contract , are the isles supposed to trade Barzal ?

Varlamov is expiring, that's 5mil to use to for Barzal and I doubt you'd need more then that to resign him, and im just saying Kadri fits the Islanders style well, I can't see him signing for any less then like 8.7ish maybe, let's even say that instead of the 9.2

Yikes. You want to pay this guy a boatload till he’s 39 years old? Ugh. Lol. Horrible deal. He needs 5x$7m at best. You are way over paying him. No good.

Also don’t think you need to give away this much to Anaheim for them to take Bailey. He still has value. I think it would be a simply 3rd for Bailey.

100%. IMO Kadri is not getting offers right now for more than 4x$7m. He had a great year but on the most dynamic offensive team in the entire NHL. Many of his points on the PP. The athletic projects that hell have another good 2 years and then decline noticeably. 7 years would be a disaster.

yeah i think there's probably a team out there that'll risk the higher AAV on like a 4 year term, but i just don't see kadri getting a high AAV and 7 years, he's going to be 32 when the season starts and the reality is that he's a great 2C who had one incredible season. most GMs seem to recognize it's an outlier. honestly i think naz goes back to colorado, seems like for him if he's taking a paycut that's where he wants to stay, so i wonder if they're feeling out the cap dump market to see if they can get rid of compher and bring him back on a 7 year x 6 mil or something.
