Fiala went for 1st and Faber and he is younger and really good, so Miller retained should get a similar return, maybe a bit more?

This roster could go head on with the Avs, probably beat them, especially if they don't have Kadri.

Yeah but he’s gonna be a UFA and I don’t think Guerin is going to trade for him if he’s not confident that Miller signs an extension. Plus Miller doesn’t fit Minnesotas timeline, Minnesotas cup window is going to open 2-3 years from now once our prospects start pop into the NHL and we gather a core of Kaprizov, Rossi, Boldy, Wallstedt, Yurov, Ohgren, Brodin, Eriksson Ek, Lambos, Faber, etc.

Point is, the team is probably gonna take a step down from last season with the loss of Fiala. Miller will be in his mid 30s by the time our cup window starts to open especially once we’re released from salary cap jail.

They can’t afford to sign him long term which is why they traded Fiala in the first place

Minnesota declines. They didn't acquire Faber to trade him. They aren't paying for a rental
