As a penguins fan, I think he is probably waiting to see if Pitt will clear space for him to come back. He seemed to really like it here. But I don’t know for sure that’s just speculation

I think ERod is probably going to get closer to $3M. I'm not saying I think he's worth that, but that's just what I think he gets.

At 3M, I think the Wild could be a player. But they probably like Beckman on his ELC more.

ERod is/was definitely a fan favorite. It's hard not to root for the guy, but I think anything over $2M is just too much for him because it's totally possible you only get 20 points out of him and that's the gamble. Would $3M be the worst overpayment ever? No, but for teams like the Wild that are cash-strapped, every dollar counts. That said, if they can offer term, like four or five years to keep him at $2M I don't think he's a bad player to give that kind of term, too. Whether or not he's scoring, the one thing he never lacks is 100% effort.
