Drouin to kings at 50% retainted is an asset, could get a 3rd and we'd be cap compliant lmao or Dadonov or Hoffman, heck even Dvorak is on the block. Habs can let those contract run out this year and not pay.

A. Drouin has positive value lol
B. Byron on LTIR

And let's say they are... why on earth would a team in a rebuild who hope to finish last place again pay you to take 2 expiring deals ?!?! Still makes no sense,
Like have you ever heard of a thing called TIME ?!?! Boy.

I’d do this for Canes but not sure if they can fit him in depending on what he’s looking for in a contract.

Not surprising that fefans always think they can get assets for nothing. Delusion is real

That Montreal doesn't want to dump. Because they're rebuilding. Plus Drouin will have value at 50% as a rental.

Imagine that Calgary makes all those trades (which will never happen as Arizona, Montreal, Toronto and Carolina wouldn't do that). Would it make sense for Calgary to turn around and pay futures for a team to take Monahan?

A cap dump requires a need for cap space and a prohibitive contract.
Expiring contracts on a team that does not currently need cap space, are not cap dump candidates.
Even then, a cap dump assumes the player has no value, retention isn't an option, would not be claimed on waivers, and no team would take them for even future considerations.
Byron at 50% retained is a bottom 6 forward that could net a return, however small.
Drouin is young and skilled enough that there could be some interest in a trial in a new environment. Especially for teams who lack offensive talent and have cap space to spare. He might not have much value, but could also net a return at 50% retained, perhaps at the deadline as top 9 insurance to a contender.

I like the value for Carolina but I don't know if the Canes have the money for Mangiapane. Also, Necas' positional needs are a lot bigger for the Canes than his value elsewhere. With Kotkaniemi being 2C, Necas is more or less the emergency 2C if KK really starts to drown.

whats the basis for that being the price to unload two one-year contracts? And why would that be a price the habs would be willing to pay over retaining/buyout options they would have?
