Basically if Laine takes up $7.5M this year, they would need to shed about $1.3M, (inserting Laine and moving Olivier down) but probably would need to shed more, like Nyquist's salary, to be more comfortably under the cap.
In 2023 though, the 4 big contracts they would need to handle would be Tex, Gav, Peeke, and Laine, especially if Tex continues to break out
(not sure what his personal issues/leave was all about, but I could see him possibly bolting back to Europe like Hofmann did).
There won't be enough $$$ to go around if the cap only goes up another $1.5M-$2.0M.
That Gudbranson contract of $4M is about twice as high as it should be, and really hurts them.
Also, IMO, Marchenko seems to be much more likely to stay up and play over Chinakov
