Description

I think this 3rd line should be able to generate against other 3rd lines. Nuge can bump up and Mcleod can as well if need top 6 shot in the arm.

Roster flexibilty with guys ok playing multiple positions upfront. Brings in some help for Broberg to come along in regular season and can run 4 experienced good defenders for late in games if Broberg and Bouchard run into rookie and sophmore issues defending in playoffs.

I think this would be good for NJ to think about, especially if Severson walks. Decent dman with a few years term, big winger to play with Hughes, depth young dman and a pick.

Barrie...who everyone wants traded and some say a cap dump....JP who would love to keep but he doesnt want to stay....Samarukov who isnt waiver eligible anymore and not making the team and a 3rd rounder??

every NHL team has a dman like Samorukov in their system...so I broke it down to JP and a 3rd for a Dman who will help us out and possibly a western canadian guy who could look to be re-signed if works out

Trading a player like Barrie for basically nothing is absolutely poor asset management. Yes he needs to be traded, but just because he no longer fits the needs of the Oilers roster doesnt make him have zero trade value. He is a perennial 35-50 point Dman and PP QB. Remove Barrie from this trade and at least send him somewhere for a couple of draft picks.
