They'll have a ton of cap problems when Price comes off LTIR this season.

Hawks aren't helping you out. Someone could just offer sheet Dach to force you to move that salary and pay a price.

I don't think you understand how the off-season cap works. It's not $82.5M but $90.75M until the season starts. If someone gives an offer sheet for Dach, the Habs can match and then figure out how to offload some salary or pull a Tampa (and cheat their asses off on the cap).

Also, because of his age, the Habs could also buy out Hoffman for $1.666M for the next 4 years, easily opening up the space needed for Dach.

Yes I know its not going to happen, just making a point that we nor anyone else are doing favours for MTL or any other team for that matter. Its been reported that its harder to move cap this year then ever before....
