1. Montreal currently has ~200k in cap space and still has RFA's to sign
2. dumping that atrocious Vlasic contract will cost a lot more than that, like a LOT more

Only Vlasic trade is if Price LTIR retires and there's a contract swap.
SJ gets Price sitting on LTIR for 4 years. Montreal gets a contract they can buy out if/when they need to.
Price's contract is buyout proof, or it wouldn't be a consideration.
