So you've traded a player with a full no trade clause, signed an RFA to 600k less than his management are asking for, traded a solid cheap d for an older, worse and more expensive d.

Being a GM is easy eh?

They are currently not desperate to do anything. And if they were really that desperate to move cap why in the heck would they a) retain money b) take on a contract. They could accomplish creating more space by simply trading EJ outright somewhere or Compher or buying out EJ, the move doesn’t make sense.
