We can’t afford to take on Lucic and Devils will move Holtz, not Mercer.

Nice thought on the PHI and EDM trades.

NJD is a great trading partner, but Tartar turns me cold on that

Maybe AJohnsson instead of Tartar? Maybe neither?

Ideally, having about 5.5mil in cap space might be enough for Nino Neids and then thats a real good long term top 9 and balanced defense

I would love Fletcher to make this trade, or even add a pick, to try and have a low risk high reward situation with Monahan. Unfortunately, these are one of those very moves that people on ACGM can think of, that probably hasn't entered into any portion of Chuck Fletcher's obviously unoriginal and stupid brain.

In all honesty, I’d keep JVR. Where would Monahan play? We have Coots, Hayes, Frost and Laughton signed… we could move Laughton to wing but we should focus on getting our expiring contracts some value at the TDL.

JVR put up 22 goals in the last 60 games last year, which is pretty impressive.
Monahan finished the year with just 23 points, granted he did miss a considerable amount of time. Just think we might be able to pass JVR off as a middle 6 winger while Monahan would only get by as bottom 6.
Unless we are getting a nice kicker, like a 3rd or prospect, I don’t see the point

First, Laughton would play 4LW, that's a moot point. I believe he admitted he liked the wing better, moving up to the first and second lines wings on occassion. Second off, i think moving Frost to Monahan's wing would be a hell of a start of a line. Let Frost be the playmaker and maybe you get a version of what Sean Monahan used to be, which was far and away better than anything JVR has ever been in his career. SM was injured a lot last year and clearly didn't look like himself. Hence, the low risk high reward.

You have to give to get.
You're not getting a Tkachuk calibre power forward for a "couple" pieces.
You're going to have to give up at least 3 A+ pieces to get him.

Mercer + Holtz is the starter.

Nope.
Sick troll though.
It's okay to not understand the reality, but you're not getting a Tkachuk for 1 A+ prospect and a bunch of meh.

Tell me the 3 A+ pieces.

Our A+ pieces are:

Jack Hughes
Nico Hischier
Jesper Bratt
Simon Nemec
Luke Hughes
Alexander Holtz

Maybe Sharangovich and Siegenthaler.

So which three are you asking for?

I'm not asking for anything, but its going to take 3.

Hughes brothers, Hischier, Nemec are all untouchable.

So pick 3 from:

Holtz
Bratt (though I think he's overrated and likely not to sign long term in Calgary)
Sharangovich
Mercer
2023 1st round pick

There's a reason just about every credible media outlet/voice has said that players like Tkachuk are like unicorns and don't become available if ever.
Just about every team in the NHL will try and be in on this, but Tkachuk has his select teams he'd be willing to sign long term with.

NJD is likely on his list as he's good friends with the Hughes brothers and I think is related to the GM/president of the Devils.
