Don’t see how they could turn that down with an additional 2 firsts on the table. I mean NJ/STL/Ottawa prospects and young talent are more enticing than the pieces in this package. Though with that being said, Calgary probably accepts this if they get the call, this is a nice package here.

It terms of gutting your team sure. I can understand your POV but that is a lot of quantity that Calgary really isn't interested in. Package has a clear lack of a quality piece going back

Aatu Raty and Wahlstrom aren’t quality pieces?

Expect Dobson to bridge at 4 x $4.5mm and Romanov at 4 x 2.5
Gross overpay for Tkachuk

Raty dropped in the draft last year for a reason. While he's still a solid prospect he hasn't proven anything yet. Wahlstrom is also a decent young middle 6'er.

Not sure if you forgot we are talking about Matthew Tkachuk here. He had 45 more points than your teams scoring leader this year.

Tkachuk has also indicated that he will not sign long-term with the flames. Raty was the projected first overall pick before his draft year and fell because he had a really bad COVID year. This past season he was transferred to a different Liiga team and was a PPG player. He even joined our AHL team late in their season for the playoff run and produced moderately well. He’s legit

Dont get me wrong, I like Raty but he is not nearly as high a prospect as someone like Holtz, Quinn, or Johnson are.

Calgary is going to take the best deal offered and this does not have the quality to match others
