I really like Mangiapane, but I don't think Calgary now blew up the hole team to tank for Connor Bedard.

But Flames fans: fair trade?

Muzzin ist still more worth than a 3rd and a 4th - no rental and hopefully no further concussion - common Chiarot was "worth" a 1st and a 4th.

Mangiapane said he's looking to sign a long term deal with the flames like 3 days ago.

Kerfoot is a rental so no interest in him. Robertson and the 1st are nice but I pass personally. Calgary is going through a PR crisis right now and Mangiapane wanting to stay really helps with damage control

Kerfoot is more of a rental to flip for assets at the deadline. You’ll probably get a 1st+ more for him

Personally I think Calgary should blow it up. It’s best year to do so. The top 3 is Bedard, Mitchkov or Fantalli. All will be elite players in the league IMO.

Muzz has value and he’s going back to a coach he’s had success with in Hakstol.

I highly doubt that. Domi got what a 3rd and 6th with double retention? Most I would expect from Kerfoot is a 2nd

Calgary has way too much depth, way too good of a goaltender, and way too good of a coach. At worst they finish in the teens this year. Exactly like the Islanders last year

They will never win the race vs. the Chicago Blowhawks!

Kerfoot would get more, especially with his defensive game and his ability to play all 3 forward positions. Plus his salary is all paid for. He will return a 1st at the deadline, maybe even more:

Personally and this is my opinion Brad trelving has been there far too long. Time for a new voice and new style of management in Calgary.

However I do agree they’re too good to bottom out unless they clean house. The Tkachuk trade is gonna return a legit 1st liner (if St. Louis probably Kyrou) and maybe a prospect (Jake Neighbours) and a 1st. You get younger and far better imo and the trade I purposed is only for fun. I doubt it happens. Toronto wants Robertson to take a step and won’t buy a forward at the deadline cause Knies will sign at the end of the college season.

He certainly wont get more than Rakell. Every's salary is mostly paid for by the TDL, that really doesn't matter for contenders

Whether Tre leaves or stays is pretty irrelevant to the point here

They may get a 1st line winger but I would personally rather aim for a homerun prospect like Kent Johnson, Alex Holtz, Jack Quinn, or Dylan Cozens. Because they cant bottom out they cant really rely on the draft for a superstar so the next best option should be the Iginla approach

I think Mangiapanne is staying too. I'd love for the Leafs to get him but they need the PR, he'll get 8 years and maybe too much and they'll continue the rebuild around him. The Flames have really good prospects and with the return they'll get from Tkachuk hopefully will put them on the right path. I think its more likely the Flames move guys like Tanev and Toffoli rather than Mangiapanne.

no way lol. Rentals arent really going for that now and Kerfoot is a middle 6 guy. Rakell last year got a 2nd, Aston-Reese, Simon, and a non-prospect. Kerfoot wont get more than that.

Rakell is also really one dimensional. Like I said Kerfoot can play anywhere in the lineup.

Plus you also have to consider who’s buying. Pittsburgh where the only team in on Rakell. Trust me when I say there’ll be multiple team in on Kerfoot. Seattle would’ve chosen Kerfoot if it wasn’t for the McCann trade

I'm not saying Kerfoot doesn't have value, I'm saying there's no chance he goes for a 1st+.

Last season, 7 1st round picks got traded. One for Eichel, one for Toffoli who had 3 years left on his deal, one for Chiarot for some dumb reason, 2 in the Brandon Hagel trade, one for Hampus Lindholm, and one for Claude Giroux.

Hagel and Toffoli are cheap and had term, Eichel and Giroux speak for themselves, and Lindholm is a top pair, minute eating defenceman. I still don't understand why guys like Chiarot and Gudbranson keep getting traded for a bunch and keep getting paid so much but Kerfoot isn't a hulking defenceman either.

Colorado traded Justin Barron and a 2nd for Lehkonen. That's the ceiling for Kerfoot who is similarly impactful but in a totally different way to Lehkonen.

"Hooby Dooby Doo!" - Very difficult to blow it up now...
