Oh my! A player that was traded for a dead contract, a middle of the pack prospect AND a 4th for a top four defender? Where can I sign up?

Narrator: Yes it is... Not only do the Devils not have the cap room for Daddy, but they also have no spot for him, and this trade benefits the Devils in no fashion at all. Defines the idea of being a terrible trade.

Yes they have cap room? Are you at ALL aware they have to sign Bratt still? And Wood after arbitration?

I am fine trading Severson, that isn't the issue, but what I am saying is there are going to be teams that offer far more than a mid forward, a meh propsect, and a 4th...

Welcome to the world of Montreal trades!

They are truly in a league of their own. It's been amazing watching them pine over what they would get for Petry, what they want for Anderson, and thinking Drouin is this awesome asset.

So since he won't re-sign, we just give him away? The Devils don't need more offense, especially after signing Palat and getting Haula. They already have too many middle 6 options as it is. Adding a 5mil 40 point scorer isn't gonna help that.
