Flames aren't trading Pelletier for nothing

Terrible return on Toffoli and that Lucic trade looks like it was created by Mike Millbury. But the biggest issue I see is that Tarasenko has a full NTC.

Krug and Tarasenko are not going to waive their NTC's to go to Calgary. Will be a 3 team trade or Blues will have another side trade with Tarasenko if MT comes to Blues.

So... two first line wingers, a top-pairing defensemen and a first round pick? If I was the Blues GM, I'd block your number.

It's bizarre that people seem to think the Flames have a lot of leverage here.

With Mikey Anderson and Sean Durzi to re-sign (giving us 7 defensemen) and 14 forwards under contract already (plus Gabe Vilardi to re-sign), any trades from this point on will have to be at least cap-neutral and roster-neutral, and this one is neither. Furthermore, making the serious roster adjustments that would be required to absorb Toffoli's $4.25 million cap hit would be both burdensome and difficult. Los Angeles declines.

The Kings accept and immediately flip Toffoli for a 2nd and a prospect because we can't afford him.

Tarasenko return will be underwhelming because of his NTC. They need to move that salary to get Thachuck. Not saying it will be a bad return but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

No one is going to help St. Louis out without being paid to take those contracts. They currently have 0 cap space, and need to shed 9m+ is they want Tkachuk... and calling Krug a top pair defenseman is pretty generous of you... they are trying to dump his contract for a reason and with 37.5m owing on his contract, the Blues are going to be held over a barrel to eat that contract.

You Isles fans have been telling yourselves that for a year now because you think you are going to get him. Players who put up a point per game usually are not cheap. We'll see.

Yeah - I don't know what to think anymore. What am almost certain on though is that the Blues want Matthew Tkachuk and Matthew Tkachuk wants to be a Blue. Making it all happen may or may not be possible though via trade.
