Pointless move - CGY would have the exact same problem with Laine as they do with Tkachuk. Also Tkachuk's underpaid.

Laine isn’t going to arbitration and is committing to dining long term in Columbus, also Tkachuk wants a 1 year deal so he can be a UFA and also has an arbitration hearing.

At some point, they have to finish their "Rebuild", right?
It seems that they have been in "rebuild mode" ever since Shane Doan hung up his skates.
