Not a bad top 10. Personally I think Letang and Carlson have dropped out of the top 10 in favour of Slavin and Heiskanen, but the rest are reasonable. I agree Weegar, nor Toews, are top 10 guys. A good argument could be made for them being top 20 guys though.

I think Soucy is a really great option, but I just don't feel like SEA wants to move him. Apparently they got plenty of interest on him last season, but decided not to move him. If the deadline rolls around and the Kraken are on the outside looking in, maybe they change their mind and if so, I'd be all over that if I'm Zito and that hole hasn't been adequately filled.

Those other guys could be interesting as well.

It’s not bad, but I don’t think Chychrun ,Pietrangelo, or Nurse deserve to be in that conversation. I wouldn’t even have them top 30. Chabot/Pelech should be in that 10-20 range.

I don’t think he’s quite that high but he 100% is top 10. I’d probably have him 6th after the top 5 on here. Love the guy though, he’s one of my favourite non leafs.

Dobson is underrated

That's pretty accurate ngl. I'd add Nick Jensen to the underrated list and Marino to the overrated list. I think Girard & Werenski are fairly rated in general.

As a Stars fan, though, I don't really feel like Heiskanen is underrated. I think the most underrated guy on our team is Lindell. Look at Klingberg with Lindell vs. without as an example. I think Klingberg should be on the overrated list, based on how he got exposed last season. I wish we could have kept him on a much more reasonable contract than he's looking for, but he's awful defensively.

Agreed, but not more than the players I listed.

At this pace, I wonder if there's an interesting market for an offensive defenseman like Klingberg at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a Tyson Barrie and signs a one-year deal on a contender.

I feel like most fans consider Heiskanen to be in the 9-20 range among defenseman, but there's a very good case that hes already top 5, which is why I think hes underrated.

Pretty accurate, although Girard’s a tough one, he’s overrated by analytics people and underrated by Hockey Men™, so I’d say if you cut down the middle and call him a solid #3 he’d be fairly rated. I’d add Sanheim and Andersson to underrated, and the D that just signed for too much (Gudbranson, Leddy, etc.) to overrated. Also Seth Jones is overrated lol

I definitely agree Girard is a #3 D, I just feel like he gets called a top pair D which he's not. I forgot about Sanheim, the guy was getting killed because his goalies are trash but hes a legitimate top pair defenseman. Agree on Andersson.

lol Leddy idk how I didn't think of him, he might be one of the most overrated D in the league. Below replacement level, still considered a 2nd pair D by a lot of teams
