If the Isles sign Kadri, I think they’re almost a lock for the playoffs

I disagree , i think it makes it more likely they miss the playoffs

How does adding a good player without decreasing from their active roster make them more likely to miss the playoffs next season lmao

they would have to decrease from their active roster, I also think Kadri will fall off a cliff next season and be close to replacement level

The more days more by I feel Kadri gonna sign a 1 year 8mill deal with Anaheim

And it makes sense for both sides as Kadri gets some money and Anaheim gets a guy they can use and if they arent gonna make it sell him at TDL

Not by that much, if at all, if they just bridge Dobson. And I think you’re off-base there. I don’t expect Kadri to pace for 100 points again, but he’s been a reliable 2-way 2C for years. It’s not unreasonable to expect him to get at least 60 points. You can say you don’t want to pay him what he’ll likely get for him to go back to his pre-last year production, but that doesn’t change the fact that he was, and likely will be in the short term, a good player regardless, and help the team next year. His fall off a cliff is probably a few years away still.

It’s not like he’s 29 YO, he’s entering his age 32 season. 2 out of the past 4 years (18-19 season and 20-21 season) Kadri had been replacement level at even strength. Considering his QOT will be much lower on the isles , I don’t see him hitting 50 pts next season. I mean yeah I’d be lying if I said I wanted him to succeed on the isles - I think him producing at a 55-60 pt pace just increases the chance of hockey purgatory, so I’d rather him fail and the isles miss the playoffs by a lot. But I also believe that he has a high chance of falling off a cliff next season. Not many 32 year old top 6 centers who weren’t superstars for a period of time during their careers. His trajectory looks very similar to Loui Ericksson , who had an elite final season with Boston and then became a bottom 6 caliber winger on Vancouver

Bridging Dobson would be incredibly stupid and even on a bridge it will cost 5 mill. If you assume Kadri gets minimum 7 mill and Romanov gets 2 mill, they are over the cap by 3 mill

prior to his one outlier season , this is what Kadri's impact was.

He doesn't have much to prove there (there needs to be an exception for some of these guys to play in the AHL IMO) but ya, tough to see where he could fit in without a trade:
Burakovsky Beniers Bjorkstrand
Schwartz Wennberg Eberle
McCann Gourde Donato
Tanev Geekie Donskoi

just a guess

I had no faith in Francis before the offseason started but he did a great job at adding two high end top 6 wingers. Puts Berniers + Wright in a position to succeed. Even Eberle is a great winger to put with a rookie center

idk, retain 50% though and he is 2250000 and send him to a team with the need of a 3C/4C. Like the Preds/Flames/Isles.

if im seattle i wouldnt want to retain for the extra year. wennberg is too good for the 4th line. i think the move is to swap him for a defenseman.

Facilitate a trade around those 2

Steel wont be signed until the investigation surrounding team Canada 2018 is concluded and he is proven not to be one of the involved members of the event

Everyone else is probs gonna get signed once Kadri signs or at some random point. At least one guys off the list in Donato so its a start

1-2 year deal with the Sens. Puts up 60+ pts and then signs a deal with someone. 4 year x 7 mill after that

Klinger's not getting that. Too much term for a guy about to turn 30 and a tad too much AAV for a purely offensive defenseman. I'd give him 5 x 5.5

I think he views himself as an high-end 2-way 1RD. It’s a shame for him that he wasn’t a UFA a few years ago when that was true. He’s basically Tyson Barrie now.
