I assume for Klim Kostin's sake that this guy means 750K, not 750

you should google the contract

you should google it to check the contract

But why would I do that when I can just check CF?

"What does he mean less than Lindell? Lindell can't possibly be making..."

*Googles "Esa Lindell Contract"*

HOW ON EARTH IS LINDELL MAKING $6 MILLION A YEAR??!! HOW?!

He played fantastic playoffs during contract year. 2019 playoffs, our coach and GM said Lindell was our MVP.

Jamie Benn and Tyler seguin are great examples of why you shouldn’t give late 20s forwards long term deals (unless they are the missing piece to a cup)

Announce these 4 things

- Kadri signs with Winnipeg. They could actually offer him like 7 x 8,5 contract and with both of their top 2 centers rumored to want out sooner rather than later this is their place to strike

- Klingberg signs with Ducks. Ducks have a plenty of cap space and Klingberg could fit in a young and offensive team with speed. Let's say he signs a Krug contract, 7 x 6,5.

- FLA trades Reinhart+Hörnqvist to PHI for Provorov+Frost. Helps both teams imo, FLA with their current D and cap troubles, and helps PHI to actually offer York a top-4 role in the team. Also Reinhart would instantly become one of their top forwards, and if they keep struggling they could deal him further for good future assets. Horny is a player type Torts likely would want in his team.

- Due to adding two wingers, PHI also trades James Van Riemsdyk to Ottawa for Nikita Zaitsev. This creates some short term cap space for Flyers to add both Reinhart and Horny, and gets rid of Zaitsev's multi-year contract for Ottawa, and it also brings them a winger they might have use for in the worst circumstances.

Given how good they were before those contracts were handed out DAL would have been laughed at for letting them go for free too, so basically they had two bad options. Benn won a f*cking Art Ross as a power forward, and Seguin was Top5 scorer in the league past 3 years before signing the deal.

I agree, they were both stars when they signed and their contracts are still among the worst in the league half way through.

This is exactly why I liked the Tkachuk deal for FLA so much. They avoided the same thing happening with Weegar and Huberdeau and got one of the top guys in the league in return.

I like that Florida/Philly deal but I don’t know if Philly can take Reinhart and Hornqvist without trading JVR

He was terrific in 2019, but not nearly good enough to earn himself a $5.8 million AAV (for 6 years no less)

I was hoping for 8 x 5 deal for him. He was good enough for that. 6 x 5.8 was a bit much to my tastes.

Will be UFA on expiry? That's not what CF says tho.

I wonder if it's a typo

I think it's a mistake-ProHockeyRumors.com also says "The contract will make Bear a restricted free agent again next offseason with one more season remaining on his RFA eligibility."

EDIT: Yep, has to be a typo, because even in that tweet it says "Will be one year away from UFA eligibility"-he'll still be an RFA after this year

Now under 2M to sign Necas (including Gardiner coming off LTIR) definitely some other move coming and I’m hoping it doesn’t involve trading Necas for JT miller

I'm assuming you mean Necas and some other pieces as well, because if it was somehow Necas for Miller straight up, I'd do that in a heartbeat from the Canes' perspective
