This certainly won’t happen because Jim Nill will never make a trade this big in his career, but for fun, this is probably what it takes, or something along those line.

Wow that’s robbery. Good thing Calgary won’t get a deal that good

A reasonable Tkachuk involves Robertson. But that is not a good idea for Dallas.

Even if Tkachuk is the better player, I don’t think they have the leverage to get a player like Robertson with their current situation. I think high end prospects/players will be what they’ll get, not franchise players.

Yeah this would be fine. It basically boils down to Johnston+Bourque+1st for Tkachuk and then 2nd+Gurianov to dump Faksa+Khudobin. I’d say that’s pretty fair. It works for the Flames because Johnston fills the long term 2C hole, Bourque can either be a great 3C or top 6 RW, and Gurianov is a solid middle six winger right now in the right situation. Faksa having 3 years left is annoying (how on earth did he get that much term lmao), but that’s why Gurianov is included. Khudo can be buried and be the AHL backup or something.

I feel like there is such a high demand for him that the price will likely be very high so I think they will be asking for a lot. If I were Dallas this deal is the most I would give up and it think that some desperate team will give way to much.

This isn't a reasonable Tkachuk trade. For a team that even without Gaudreau and Tkachuk still has a team that's going to try and compete in the Pacific, they aren't going to be interested in a trade offer for ONLY futures.

If Dallas wants Tkachuk, there are 2 options and neither of them involve sending cap dumps to Calgary. As stated above, Robertson OR Hintz are going to be targets for Calgary in Scenario #1. Personally, I don't see Dallas entertaining this. Tkachuk is better than both players, don't get me wrong, but both Robertson and Hintz (next contract) will be roughly $1.5-2M cheaper than Tkachuk. Can I live with Robertson putting up 10-15 points fewer than Tkachuk for $2M less? Of course. Similar mindset with Hintz.

Scenario #2 is the interesting one. Scenario #2 involves trading Lindell and Gurianov off the roster in addition to Bourque/Stankoven, and a 1st Round Pick. Lands Calgary a top prospect, 1st Round Pick, and two young roster players. It also frees up $8.7M in cap space. Biggest question mark on this deal obviously revolves around Lindell's NMC & his willingness to waive

Calgary doesn't have all the leverage, but they're in a spot where there are enough teams interested that they don't have to take on awful contracts like Faksa or Khudobin.

This isn’t good for Dallas. I would rather let Chucky go to arbitration for a one year deal and sign him long term as a UFA. No loss of assets.
