What do Isles fans think

Created by: BigTramFan
Team: 2022-23 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 21, 2022
Published: Jul. 21, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assuming an extension is in place for Miller. NYI get a big offensive boost with Miller in their top 6. The main cost is Pulock but VAN also trades Myers to NYI to help insulate Dobson for 2 more seasons. NYI probably let Myers walk after that with pay rises due for Romanov and Dobson.

Terrible trade for NY. Myers is a negative asset and Pulock is worth more than Miller.

Myers is definitely not a negative asset, not at all. Pulock also is probably not as valuable as a 99 point player, though he has term on his contract which might give him a slight edge in that area. Still doesn’t make sense for Isles though

Top pair RHD on bargain contracts are extremely valuable , I’d say Pulock is just as valuable as miller, if not more

You can’t compare the two on point production lol. That isn’t remotely fair lol.

Isles in a tough cap crunch & getting older. Difficult trade partners especially with Uncle Lou. Miller would be the sorely needed scoring no doubt just don’t see a deal is there. That said I’m not right often lol

Lou lamoriello fired Trotz because of how he handled Wahlstrom , so you’re wrong

yes, GM/Presidents fire coaches on how they handled 1 prospect.....ok

Or is maybe the team wasnt prepared to play this year and showed poorly after 2 b2b SC semi finals?

what more believable?

Trotz is known for hating young skilled players - it wasn’t just Wahlstrom, it was also Barzal , Salo, and Dobson. It’s a fact that the way Wahlstrom was handled played a role in Trotz being fired.

You clearly don’t know how Lou lamoriello operates. He does not trade his guys, Wahlstrom was his 1st draft pick with isles organization and plays the way Lamoriello wants his players to play. You want to tell me the last time Lamoriello traded one his own 1st rd draft picks?

Dude you are arguing with a fan base that defends OEL and Tucker Poolman. At the end of the day a lot of fans who don’t have a great grasp of the game undervalue good defenseman. You see it all the time when people mention Brett Pesce on here.

I really like how fans seem to think getting older helps you win now. That’s the opposite of how you win now. Ask Joe Sakic if you don’t believe me. Basically all his older guys r on one year deals

The only legit news coverage of the isles comes from Kurz, Gross or the NYPost. There really isn’t much else out there besides bloggers who r really bad at what they do.

Lou has been fairly consistent when it comes to how he values the guys he drafts. And he doesn’t move picks unless it’s for a young player or it’s the trade deadline. I may not like him but I have to be honest about that. If not for the Hickey/Komarov signings the isles would’ve kept Toews. Lou does stupid **** like overpay veterans and if he didn’t we would be having a very different conversation rn.

Show me the media report. Lou has only said good things about Wahlstrom, it’s Trotz who didn’t like him and that’s one of the reasons he’s gone.

He’s connected to the team
