The Flames seem to have no leverage when it comes to moving Tkachuk, so I can’t imagine they’d get that much if they move him before the season.

Also Dubé almost certainly won’t be returning to the NHL.

Thats some hot takes.

Calgary doesn't need leverage they will get a better return than this because of how highly coveted a player like Tkachuk is. Another team will make a better offer because they want him more.

Also what's your basis on Dube not returning? His agent has already made a statement saying he did not partake in the incident.
Quote:
Global News contacted David Cowan with O2K Sports Management.

Cowan said in a statement: “All of Global News’ questions will be asked and answered during the pending NHL investigation. Dillon did not engage in any wrongdoing, and he cooperated fully with the independent London Police Service investigation in 2018, through which all players were then cleared of any wrongdoing.”

The statement continued: “Naming Dillon or attempting to associate him in any way with alleged criminal wrongdoing, or alleging that he was not cooperative with the London Police or was unwilling to cooperate with Hockey Canada, will constitute materially false statements constituting defamation causing serious financial and reputational harm.”

I agree with the Tkachuk take, they'll be lucky to get half that package for him. Frankly, he's over rated and I seriously doubt he'll ever have a statical season like he just had again.

That doesn’t say that Dubé didn’t participate in the incident we all know was sexual assault. It just means that they believe he isn’t guilty of any legal wrongdoing, which is technically true until he’s charged with a crime. Only 7 out of 22 players haven’t said that they weren’t part of the incident, and Dubé was one of them, which doesn’t paint a pretty picture for him.

What do you think "Dillon did not engage in any wrongdoing" means?

It’s a lawyer giving a non-answer instead of what almost every other player did, and acknowledged that they weren’t involved in the incident at all.
