Not close. 2 rentals being 50% of the value is a non-starter

It’s pretty close imo but this is really the best the blues can offer without selling the farm

Why would Calgary have any interest in rentals? This offer easily gets beat by New Jersey and Columbus

I don’t think Tarasenko waives for Calgary anyway. I think Perunovich and 1st is the starter for St. Louis. I think throwing in Barbashev at least leaves a forward spot open for Tkachuk. Then a conditionally 2nd levels out the offer. Overall, Calgary is getting a young LD with a lot of potential, a hard nose forward who can easily resign in Calgary, and a 1st and a conditional 2nd/3rd round picks.

Its called you sign him long term. Dont teams do this ALL the time? You could say the same thing about MT being a rental too? Sure he says he would sign long term but until he actually does than its a gamble

That is a really weak offer too

Anaheim declines, we are not paying to solve your cap problems, picks come the other way to make this work.

You’re getting a Hobey Baker winning LD that has 3 more years of team control. 1st and 2nd in a deep draft. 60 point 3rd line player last year on the Blues who puts in the work.

Calgary is extremely deep at LD. A 1st is a 1st, especially a late 1st, it's not different from this year. Barby very likely overachieved this year considering he's never gotten more than 30 points before and is a rental. This package is not nearly enough value and doesn't address any of Calgary's needs

Actually no it likely doesn't. If Matty won't sign long term as part of the trade the value going back to Calgary will plummet.

So your entire basis is he eill only sign with 1 team? Good luck with that argument
