Rangers decline. I think even if Tkachuk wanted to come to the Rangers with Schneider and Blais

Rangers could never afford Tkachuk. That's why trading Schneider and Blais for him would be stupid cause they would just lose him immediately. The only way to do it would be to move Panarin, Zibanejad, Trouba or Fox but the first three have NMC and Fox would just retire if he went back to CGY. But if the team had cap space, not trading Schneider and Blais if Tkachuk wanted to come to NYR would be an incredible mistake. In terms of value Tkachuk is 100X more valuable than Schneider and Blais. IMO Tkachuk and Fox could probably go one for one in terms of value.

Rangers trade is decent but I think Schneider will be a good top 4 D in the future and has NHL games under his belt, and he was a 1st rounder. Rathbone has untapped NHL potential with stats to back that up at Harvard and the AHL but little NHL experience, and he was a 3rd rounder. That being said I think Rathbone is an upgrade from Zac Jones, probably Lundqvist too at this moment.

Hoglander is 21 yrs old and put up 27 points in 56 games in his rookie season. Blais is 26, puts up less points than Hoglander, and cant stay healthy. Hoglander is 50X more valuable than Blais.

Overall I think the trade is pretty equal in terms of value. It also suits each teams needs pretty well. NYR also needs cheap guys and Rathbones making 850K for 2 years and Hog will re sign for cheap probably. If Blais can stay healthy its a decent add to Vans 4th line and we need defensive guys on the right like Schneider.

Habs DiPietro is over. We signed Monty. We have 3 NHL Goalies in case Price can't play.

Stars don't have the cap space for Myers, even with Vancouver taking back Khudobin's contract. Dallas declines.

Rangers decline. Drury and GG love Schneider so if any defenseman gets moved by the Rangers it is probably Lundkvist.
