I could honestly see that type of return for Tkachuk

The NJ trade works so long as Bratt signs, but I can't see why you would do the NY trade for late round picks and no viable player back. If Calgary is going to rebuild, then the rest of the core may as well go too.

Not doing Bratt and Holtz. If it’s Bratt and a 1st, it’ll be a lesser prospect. Mukhamadulin, Foote, Walsh, Gritsyuk

If it’s Bratt, Holtz, and 1st then we would expect another piece like Dube in return

Hanifin trade is real bad, He really broke out this year as a 1st pair defender. Especially since you have Zadorov (a 3rd pair defenseman) playing on that 1st line now

Yeah...I'm also looking at is as Hanifin is close to Johnny and Chucky, and perhaps it's time to cash in on a Hamonic type return, while also bringing in Klingberg to lessen the blow.

I wonder if it couldn't be balanced via the inclusion of a 3rd rounder (similar to what VGK/BUF did in their trade), rather than a player like Dube - so instead of it being a pure 1st round pick, it's effectively them moving back a few rounds.

We have no idea if Hanifin will want to jump ship for some time. As of right now moving him would decimate the blueline and Klingberg certainly doesn't fix that. I would rather keep Hanifin then try to extend him next summer. If he cant be extended ocnsider moving him. Looks like Poirier could be legitimate as well to replace him

Don't think so because you'd be taking two current forwards out of the lineup for us. We would need a player in return and not Valimaki

I don't have much issue with including Dube of need be. Pelletier deserves a chance next season and right now there is no room for him with this lineup

Haha, have that many Flames fans just been tossing Valimaki in? I actually think Valimaki could be poised for a good turn in his career. Yeah, ultimately Dube could make sense.

Yeah could be the case, and next summer would be the pressure point for him. I'd just want to gain extras in that 2023 draft.
