Thats hilarious. Peterka isn't a top prospect? The kid was a point per game player last year. But I'd be happy to change that slow to an Östlund if that makes you happy.

He is a top prospect who just had one of the best d+2 AHL seasons in history at age 19/20

And to top that off, he’s young for his draft year. Ain’t no pleasing some people.

I would do this trade begrudgingly, but I don't see tkachuk coming here

I loke him but it has to be a better prospect than Pelletier. One of Cozens, Quinn, or Savoie

Come on, really? You've been around the block a few times here, I think our only prospect who is better than jjp is savoie.

I respect that and do think that's what it will take, which is why it won't happen. We are a year or 2 away from this type of trade making sense for us.

You might be surprised. As one who knows several in the Tkachuk family, they are mostly in the North East. There is a history of hatred with the Bruins even though Keith was born in the Boston area. This is partially why Brady was happy to sign long term with Ottawa. Most of the extended family live in New Hampshire and Maine which is not that far from Buffalo.

I don't see us going the savior route again or spending that much on a single player a la eichel.

I guess we will see

Well, if you want a better prospect than Pelletier, JJP easily qualifies. He is 10 months younger than Pelletier (pretty significant when a prospect is 20), had a slightly higher PPG in the AHL, in his first season playing on NA ice. Not to mention he has better size/physicality.

Quinn and Cozens are better. I like JJP but not enough to be the centerpiece for Tkachuk

They were both rookies in the AHL this year. I do not consider the difference between them significant at all. Hence the ask for a better prospect

There is a significant difference between being about a point per game in the AHL in your D+2 year, and your D+3 year. Peterka is a better prospect than Pelletier, and 32/32 GMs would agree.
What Pelletier did was impressive, but Peterka led all AHL rookies with 68 points in 70 games, recording the most points by an AHL player in his under-20 season since Guy Chouinard had 80 as a 19-year-old with Nova Scotia in 1975-76.

That record is nice and all but it could only really exist because CHL players cant play in the AHL at under 20.

Im not trying to take away from his accomplishment, good on him but you arent getting this. I'm asking for a better prospect than JJP.

I’m not advocating for trading for Tkachuk, I don’t think it’s the right fit. However, i was simply responding to JJP being called not a top prospect, and how he is in fact better than Pelletier.

I completely disagree with him being noticeably better than Pelletier. He is a good prospect though

You clearly don’t understand how much of a difference she makes in prospects. If there are two prospects that are at similar levels, but are on opposite ends of the draft year eligibility, you take the younger one every time. Sixth months is significant in 18-21 year old players, and JJP is 10 months younger and had more goals and more assists.
