Windjammer if he was a hockey player is a guy like Brad Marchand. Love him on your team and hate him if he is not. Kind of happy he is on our side.smile

For discussions sake it would be nice if Montreal fans at least tried to use a little realism in their offers so we would have something to actually talk about.

Best I can do to make it as reasonable as possible.

That's actually fairly reasonable. You're adding a first for taking Armia and giving decent value for Dubois. The only thing I could see Chevy holding back on is the top 10 protection.

If the pick is outside of the top 10 then another prospect like Barron needs to be added. Dvorak and a mid 1st round pick isn't enough value for 2 years of Dubois.

But I appreciate that you tried to give value in the deal.

I disagree with your distribution of the value I proposed, but it's really just nitpicking. "Adding" a 1st for Armia doesn't add up. In the trade he's a zero sum asset. If Chevy would demand more just for including him, I would exclude him from the deal altogether and look elsewhere to alleviate more cap space. So you're essentially getting a roster player (Dvorak) + two 1st rd picks. which is essentially the rental price you'd get for PLD elsewhere.

EDIT: No chance you get MTL's unprotected 1st under any circumstance, and asking to add more value for adding top 10 protection in one of the deepest draft in over a decade , to the point of asking Barron, is a deal breaker.

Okay, I see. Yeah you'd have to move Armia elsewhere, but other than that, I think Chevy is at least talking.

Some deals are bad but there are a few at-least-we-can-discuss ones.
I had offered one a few days ago and from the comments you seemed to be in the minority, thinking it wasn't a good deal.

Its not possible anymore and did count on the fact that we traded Peatry for a first.... But hey, I think I would of been a good starting point.
One thing to think of is what if his value drops throughout the year? What then for Wpg?

But as of right now, think it's better to way 1 or 2 years before talking about PLD.

There's probably a better chance of his value going up with a good season. Yes, things can happen that lower value as well, but that's not thigh of a reason to accept a bad trade now.

You are right though, the most likely scenario is that we are all here again next summer talking about the same thing.
