Definitely doesn’t work, but I don’t hate it. Will they get a better offer maybe, but I feel like there’s some quality in the deal here. Just for fun, so don’t hate on it too much.

I may be in the minority here, but I’d willingly give those pieces up for an established superstar given how unlikely it is that any of those guys even get close to where Tkachuk is. Plus this is a complete win now move. Especially considering how bad the cap issues are gonna be.

You would be giving up 5 opening night players, 1 prospect and 2 high draft picks for 1 player (Kakko who is MIA and we also cannot buy out Trouba). We are also assuming Othmann is ready but that bottom 6 is pretty bad. Also pretty much 3 rookies on defense.

No matter what they do they aren’t good enough to win a cup with Laf, Kakko and Chytil and potentially Kravtsov in the lineup. None of those guys are good enough to contend with. They might be in due time, but they don’t provide the level of scoring needed for this team to succeed.

I expect improvement from Chytil and Laffy this coming season but I agree we need more scorers especially at 5v5. I actually have higher hopes for Kravy than Kakko tbh.

I get what you’re saying but there is far too much uncertainly from almost a quarter of the forwards (Laf, Chytil, Kakko and Kravtsov) to expect to contend this year or be any better this playoffs. Losing Strome, Copp and Vatrano will hurt more than people think.

Agree 100%. I would also add Blais to your list as he is coming off an injury and they really dont know what they have in him.

Rangers are going to regress next season because odds are that Kreider wont score 50 again and Shesty wont have another historic season (most likely). I think losing Vatrano hurts the most because he is what this team needs and that is a shoot first player. Trocheck nullifies the Strome loss. Defense should be better without Nemeth.

Yes it is.

Now if you want to have some real fun...how about Fox for Tkachuk straight up (assuming extension) LOL.

Talk about an unhappy Fox in that situation. It would never happen but still.

That’d be a doozy. Fox would probably retire or fake an injury to get out of going there.
