We give up the 2 best players in the trade by a country mile. No chance we even consider taking back contracts like that.

I agree but was just wondering on monahan value? Or worth the gamble and a 1 year window instead of 2 on voracek.

As for his value. -2nd round pick. Not worth escaping a year of voracek to have an bottom 6 quality center making 6 million while Jake is still a top line playmaker.

For sure I like to kick some tires and change some of the names floating around instead of tkachuk and Dubois marathon. If there was cap, I think monahan wouldn’t be a bad gamble to regain top 6 form and buy some kids some sheltered minutes in Columbus and possibly bring him back on a Bargain, but probably could do it a year from now also when ufa and nyquist off the books.

No sorry I appreciate the change of pace. If I see another chucky to Columbus for same 5 players im gonna loose it. Or to st L for barbashev ++. Gets old.

I don’t think it’s a bad gamble next year in free agency. Or before we got Johnny and we had tons of cap, sure I would’ve taken a shot with Sean. Now, to rich for a gamble.

I probably don’t watch enough colombus hockey to be that in tune with it, got one interesting team coming. Probably could use a Center or are they going roll with a bunch of kids that have been pushed to the wing and working there way back to center. If that’s the case probably best not to block it. Going to be some growing pains and 1-sided face off stats, and starting puck possession, but a work in progress. Nice to see gaudreau go away from the usual suspects and sign somewhere different.

Yeah alittle off with the situation.
We have a solid center core of Jenner, roslovic sillinger and kuraly. The only young one is sillinger and he is only center and played solid all of last year there. The rest are established at center. The only one who isn’t is roslovic and that’s only due to his defensive mistakes. I don’t see Sean outplaying any of them tbh.
Kuraly is a fantastic 4c btw so that’s not changing.

So ideally it turns into sillinger roslovic Jenner kuraly, but next year probably Jenner roslovic sillinger kuraly, my reference was more to texier, roslovic, and Johnson. But good to know, and always fun to have hockey talk in July.
