there’s 0% chance a trade to the Stars doesn’t involve Johnston, and you’re probably gonna have to give up Bourque as well

There might be riots in the streets in STL if the Blues don’t get Tkachuk. Translation: that offer is not beating what the Blyes would offer.

Eichel got a 1st, top line young player with term, and Vegas’s best prospect. Davidson is inept and he still pulled in the 7th overall pick. Nothing in this offer sniffs even the DeBrincat return, and Tkachuk is better than DeBrincat by a long shot, and honestly I’d take him pretty comfortably over Eichel too lol given what they’ve both shown to date.

When that Buffalo Trade happened people were complaining and thought Vegas Fleeced Buffalo. They were wrong obviously now it looks like buffalo did just fine. I agree Tkachuk is better than Debrincat but he is also coming off his best season, teams won't trade for him expecting him to get 100 points every year, they will expect the 70-80 points Tkachuk. Not to mention every team knows he will just walk in FA.

I will say this trade, in particular, is a little light but it's not super far off.

Tkachuk got 70 points dragging a declining (offensively at least) Backlund and ***** Frolik around lmao. Give him a couple top 6 forwards and he can drive a line and score 90 points easily, he’s an elite play driver at both ends of the rink. Gurianov and Faksa is at BEST a wash, if you’re a huge fan of Gurianov even though he had a rough season, and Faksa’s term is an issue. So you’re left with a (probably late) 1st, a 2nd, and a B/C prospect for Tkachuk? It’s not anywhere near close. You would literally have to add Johnston and Bourque to this trade as it stands to get in the right ballpark.

If you take out Faksa and Replace stranges with Borque or Stankoven I'd say it's pretty close.

Fine, replace Stragnes with Bourque, but I don't think Stars can or would do a deal without Faksa or Lindell involved for cap reasons. Faksa's contract is much easier to move.
