That is an INSANE deal. Somehow Calgary WON the trade. They need to be convinced that Huby and Weegar will extend though

Such a bad trade for Florida… makes no sense. Huber and Weegar definitely leaving at end of this year

i mean I'm a Pens fan so I'm not too worried over here lmao. but if Calgary resigns Huberdeau alone that's a win

Worst case they will get hauls of futures at the deadline for them both. Prob 3-4 additional firsts and prospects

Resigns him for his age 30-38 seasons?

Reports of Calgary's demise have been greatly exaggerated. This trade gets them by this year, and the whole structure may collapse next summer, but they're still playoff contenders.

I never said that. 3-4.

Huberdeau easily 2. Weegar 1. Plus top prospects. We are looking at deadlines where David Savard and Ben Chiarot are pulling 1st’s.

The way Huberdeau plays, it's not as great a concern. He's a little older than Johnny, the Flames were ready to give him 84mill. I'd imagine they're ready to do the same with Huberdeau

He either accepted the trade here, or they weren't on his "no" list. That's a good sign. I think the Flames are willing to pay him handsomely. He's right there in terms of skillset with Johnny.

It is extremely rare for a player to get 2 1sts

It’s Jonathan ****ing Huberdeau lol

Let’s not get into hypotheticals too much. But if ever a guy was to fetch multiple 1’s at the deadline it’s him. Especially if he extends with a team who gets him.
